What paperwork do you need to rent a motorcycle in Morocco?
1 min read
Nothing complicated, but it is better to arrive with the right documents than to discover a problem on departure day. Here is the exact list.
Your driving licence
Your national licence is enough, provided it covers the category of the vehicle you rent. An A licence for a large-capacity bike, A2 for mid-range, and a car licence is enough for a 50cc scooter.
An international driving permit is not required for a short tourist stay, but we recommend it: it costs little, is easy to obtain, and avoids any discussion at a roadside check.
Proof of identity
Passport for foreign visitors, ID card for residents. We take a copy when we hand over the vehicle.
The deposit
It varies by vehicle and is confirmed to you before you arrive. It can be left in cash or as a card imprint, and is returned in full when the vehicle comes back in good condition.
What we provide
- The vehicle registration document
- The insurance certificate
- The rental agreement
Keep these with you throughout the rental: you will be asked for them at a check.
A question of age
You must be 21 or over with two years of licence for large-capacity motorcycles. For scooters and bicycles there are no special conditions beyond the required licence.
